The poet
When São Paulo created its first Academia de Letras, which developed a name as the Academia dos Felizes, because of his quality of the writing and speaking, dealing with a love for nature and literature, especially poetry, Friar Galvão was invited to be part of it. In its second session, in March of 1770, Friar Galvão recited with success, in Latin, sixteen plays of his authorship, all dedicated to Sant'Anna, besides two hymns, an ode, a rhythm and twelve epigrams. There were metric compositions according to the classical rules, and transmitted deep and profound religious and patriotic sentiments.
